GAIA 9 Handpan
The GAIA 9 Handpan is a beautifully reimagined version of our classic GAIA handpan, meticulously handcrafted and tuned by the renowned Dave Beery. This instrument embodies the perfect blend of traditional artistry and modern innovation, making it a standout choice for both beginners and seasoned handpan enthusiasts.
The GAIA 9 Handpan, with its impressive 21” diameter, is constructed from deep drawn pressed nitrided steel, ensuring both durability and exceptional sound quality. Standing about 10 inches tall, it's an instrument that commands attention not just with its sound but also with its presence.
One of the most striking features of the GAIA 9 is its captivating color. Crafted through a careful kiln treatment, the handpan features a dark blue-grey matte finish. This elegant base is complemented by shimmering highlights of emerald, gold, and sapphire, creating a visual spectacle that's as mesmerizing as its acoustic output.
Tuned to the popular Sunset scale, also known as D minor or Celtic Minor, the GAIA 9 Handpan includes an additional note, bringing the total to nine notes on the top shell. This scale is not only easy to learn but also versatile, making the GAIA 9 an ideal companion for jamming with friends, casual home play, or professional performances, whether on stage or as a street musician.
The precise tuning of the GAIA 9 Handpan is a testament to Dave Beery's expertise. Each handpan is tuned to A-440 using state-of-the-art electronic stroboscopic tubing devices, ensuring that each note and tone is perfect. This level of precision guarantees that you're not just getting a musical instrument, but a masterpiece of acoustic engineering.
